How Library Fines Work & Sorry--No Fine Amnesty This Year
All students should keep in mind that late fines on overdue items continue to go up each day UNTIL THE ITEMS ARE RETURNED.
When you return an overdue item to the library, the fine freezes at its current level EVEN IF YOU DO NOT PAY THE FINE RIGHT AWAY. It’s important to keep this in mind—even if you don’t pay the fine right away, you save a lot of money by returning the overdue items anyway.
There will be no more fine amnesties in 2007/2008. If you have any overdue items, please return them as soon as possible. The sooner you return them, the less money you will owe.
