The Design Center manages the development and design of a variety of print and web-based marketing recruiting, fundraising, and marketing materials, from conceptualization to delivery. The design staff has extensive experience in graphic design and strives to achieve a consistent visual identity for Ringling College. Our team works directly with on-campus and external clients to identify project objectives and provide creative design solutions to fulfill those objectives.

Forms

Working with the Design Center

  1. Initiate a Job: To initiate a job through the Design Center, please complete the Creative Design Request Form. The Design Center Production Coordinator, Todd Silvia, will verify that he has received your request within 24 hours. If you have any questions, please email him at: tsilvia@ringling.edu or call (941) 955-2985.
  2. Point Person: Please identify a point person from your department who will be responsible for providing us the information we need to develop the design(s).
  3. Consultation: Your design project will require meetings and production schedules that include adequate time for writing, editing, design, layout, review, and printing (if applicable). During client consultation, we will partner with you to create the best strategy to achieve your goals and identify the most effective way to reach your target audience.
  4. Design Brief: If it is determined that creating a Design Brief is necessary for successful completion of your project, then you will be asked to participate in this process.
  5. Project Assignment: After all the details of the project are understood, then the Design Center will determine the best resources for the project, whether it be designed by our In-House team, or with outside design resources. In addition, any other resources, such as photography, copy, etc., may be needed. All options will be discussed with you, as well as the financial aspects of each. In addition, a timeline will be established at that time.
  6. Concept Development: Based on the information submitted, the designer assigned to the project will provide you creative design concepts for your review and feedback. Once the design concept is agreed upon, editorial and photo selection are finalized (if included in the project).
  7. Design Development: The designer will finalize text and design. A full color mock-up is printed and circulated in-house for proofing. The proof then is sent to you for proofing and final sign-off. If the piece will be printed, a printer should be agreed upon as well as confirmation of quantity and mailing instructions (if applicable). The client is responsible for paying for all printing, mailing and delivery costs for their project. Ringling College requires that a P.O. be generated for any expense over $500, and this is the responsibility of the client.
  8. Printing: To ensure a quality publication and to keep the project on schedule, our designers oversee the entire printing process.
