Ringling College of Art & Design Overview 2007-2008:
Founded in 1931 by John Ringling, noted art collector, real estate developer and circus impresario.
A private, independent, not-for-profit, four-year college of the visual arts and design recognized as a 501c3 organization.
Fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design [NASAD], the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools [SACS], and by the First Professional Degree Level by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, formerly FIDER.

More than 6% of the student body is international.
Student Demographics: Population represents 43 states, 28 foreign countries, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

Half of the students live on the large residential campus, in one of eight residence halls, houses, or apartments.

Community Programs:
PreCollege Perspective: Each summer, close to 100 high school juniors and seniors from throughout the U.S. and abroad spend four weeks living and studying on the Ringling College campus.
Continuing Studies and Special Programs [CSSP]: Nearly 2,000 students attend teen and adult Community Art classes and workshops offered throughout the year. Selby Gallery welcomes more than 25,000 visitors to its award-winning exhibitions each year.
Verman Kimbrough Memorial Library is open to the public and houses an impressive collection of more than 100,000 slides and 47,000 volumes, including 3,000 videos and DVDs, and 330 periodicals.
Ringling College Design Center: This professional design studio is overseen by a faculty director and staffed and by top senior class students. It provides thousands of dollars in design services free to not-for-profit organizations each year.
