Campus Map

We're glad you're interested in living on campus. Ringling College of Art and Design is unique among premier art colleges in the United States, because we offer a truly collegiate, residential environment similar to that of the best private Liberal Arts colleges.

With 10 distinct Residence Halls and apartment buildings, Ringling College's on-campus atmosphere provides you a comfortable home away from home – and all within just a few minutes walk of your classes! More than half of Ringling College students live on campus. Residence life offers you a unique opportunity to get involved with a community of students who share a common interest in art and design. We encourage your participation in a variety of ongoing and special programs and services offered to our resident students.

We hope this information will be helpful to you as you prepare to move into campus housing for the year.

1st YEAR ROOMS DESCRIPTION

Double rooms in Appleton, Harmon and Idelson Halls measure 15 feet by 16 feet, and have tile floors. In Keating Hall, single rooms are approximately 10 feet by 10 feet, with two slightly larger double rooms. The floors in Keating Hall are refinished hardwood. All of these Residence Halls have public bathroom and shower facilities and are co-ed by floor.

The rooms in the Student Center are all double occupancy, measuring about 11 feet by 16 feet.  Each room is carpeted and equipped with a private bathroom and shower.

Rooms in the Cove vary from single to quad-size and most are carpeted. Double, triple, and quadruple rooms have full baths and singles have a 1/2 bath (toilet and sink) with shared shower facilities. The Cove is co-ed room by room.

All Residence Hall windows are equipped with vertical blinds, and all rooms are air-conditioned.

RESIDENCE HALL STAFF

The Associate Dean of Students, Director of Residence Life, Coordinator of Student Activities and Leadership Development, Coordinator of Student Volunteerism and Service Learning, and upperclass student Resident Assistants (RAs) live in residence and work together to create the most comfortable, supportive, and responsive living environment possible. Please feel free to turn to them for any needs you might have after arrival.

ROOMMATES

The Coordinator of Residence Life uses information gathered from your personal preference inventory form (PDF) to match you with a roommate. You may, however, request a roommate with whom you were acquainted prior to attending Ringling College. There is space available on the personal preference form to include the information of a preferred roommate.

POLICIES

We try to keep policies and regulations to a minimum, while assuring the safety, security, and comfort of all residents. Most policies are based on local, state, or federal laws. A complete list of policies can be found in the Ringling College Student Handbook which will be mailed to you, however a few of the most important polices are listed here:

  • No alcoholic beverages, drugs, or associated paraphernalia are permitted in the Residence Halls.
  • Out of respect for your fellow students, all Residence Halls have "Quiet Hours" between 11 p.m. and 10 a.m. Sunday through Thursday evenings.  Weekend hours are minimally from midnight until 10 a.m.
  • "Courtesy hours" [respectfully not bothering others with noise] are expected at all other times.
  • Incense and other open flames, including candles, are prohibited.
  • Weapons, even decorative ones, are forbidden.

If you have other policy questions before arriving, please contact the Office of Student Life at 941.359.7505.
