Students Fight Anti-Semitism for Holocaust Remembrance Day

Business of Art and Design student Emily Fritz was awarded the first place prize for her essay, “Remarkable Stories of Holocaust Rescuers and How to Combat Anti-Semitism Today,” by the Tampa Bay Consular Corps. According to their website, the Corps, “In line with its mission, every year the Corps hosts the International Holocaust Commemoration Ceremony on or around January 27 which is International Holocaust Remembrance Day as designated by the United Nations in its November 5, 2015 resolution.”

For the last two years, the organization has invited high school and college students to participate in an essay contest that addresses and fights anti-Semitism.

In addition to winning first place, Emily received a Certificate of Achievement at the International Holocaust Remembrance Day commemoration on January 22, 2017 held at the Italian Club in Ybor City.
