Commencement 2014

Ringling College of Art and Design Graduation Information and Checklist

The Ringling College of Art and Design Commencement will be Friday, May 9, 2014.  The ceremony celebrates the achievement of earning a degree and occurs once a year at the end of the Spring Semester.  Actual degrees are not awarded at commencement.  The actual diplomas are awarded and students are graduated, after all final grades are submitted and a final degree audit is performed.   Diplomas are sent to students’ permanent addresses in early to mid-June.

To be awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (BFA) or a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) from Ringling College of Art and Design, students must complete all departmental requirements, have been enrolled in a minimum of 45 credits in residence at Ringling College including the senior year, have a cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.00, and complete a Diploma Application.   Degrees are awarded three times a year in May, August and December.

The posting of the earned degree on the permanent transcript record, issued by the Office of the Registrar, is the official testimony of possession of the degree.

Graduating with Honors

Gold cords are worn by honors degree candidates whose cumulative G.P.A. is 3.5 or higher at the end of the Fall Semester 2013.  Actual degree honors will be noted on the diploma and official transcript and will be based on the cumulative G.P.A. computed through the Spring Semester 2014.
