Melissa Meyer: Paintings and Works on Paper 1975-2005
Abstract artist Melissa Meyer paints colorful interior landscapes using broad strokes of translucent color. The exhibition is a small 30 –year retrospective of the internationally known New York artist’s prints and paintings.
Gallery II
Brenda Brown, In Situ
Brenda Brown, sculptor and conceptual artist, uses visual documentation and audio recordings of nature's minutia in specific environments. Here exhibit will include installations on the Ringling College campus and Crowley Nature Center and the premiere of a set of three songs for chamber ensemble by composer Richard Festinger. the songs are set to poems on insect voices and insect sounds serve as additional musical instruments.

Thurs., Feb. 14: Preview Reception at 5:30 p.m. in Selby Gallery followed by the presentations at 7 p.m.
Artist Melissa Meyer will present a presentation on her work currently in the exhibition Interiors/Exteriors.
The preview reception and presentation are free and open to the public.

Director’s Tour
Mon., Feb. 18, 11:30 a.m.
The Selby Gallery Director will walk you through an in depth and intimate historical perspective of the exhibit Interiors/Exteriors– and tie the discussion into the current pulse of today’s’ contemporary art landscape. The tour meets at Selby Gallery at 11:30 a.m. The tour is free and open to the public.
RECEPTION & MUSICAL PERFORMANCE/PRESENTATION WITH BRENDA BROWN & RICHARD FESTINGER
Thurs., Feb. 28; reception at 6:00 p.m.
followed by musical performance of new work by contemporary music composer, Richard Festinger, and joint presentation with artist Brenda Brown at 7 p.m. in the Lecture Hall adjacent to the gallery.

In addition to the Selby Gallery/ Ringling College of Art and Design installaitons, Brenda Brown has developed a Listening Trail at Crowley Museum and Nature Center in Myakka, Florida. Go to Crowley's website for additional information on times and admission.
