    Ringling College Wins Florida iVote Video Contest

    December 5, 2008 - Ringling College of Art and Design was announced the winner of the Florida Campus Compact iVote Election 2008 Video Contest.  The winning video was submitted by Ringling Digital Film sophomore Miryam Fail.

    For this contest, participants were required to submit a video of 4 minutes or less about election related topics from a non-partisan perspective. The video needed to demonstrate how one could encourage greater student participation on Election Day. The video could be creative, comical, or serious and address one of the following themes:

    • How would you increase student voter turnout on Election Day?
    • What does it mean to you to be a citizen of Florida?
    • What is freedom to you?

    Submissions were allowed from students enrolled in higher education institutions in Florida that were members of Florida Campus Compact.

    Miryam was awarded $500 for her first place prize.  Prizes for second and third place were also awarded $300 and $100 respectively.
