Fine Arts Alumnus Amer Kobaslija Awarded Fellowship

    April 12, 2013 - Ringling College alumnus Amer Kobaslija (Fine Arts, 2003) has been awarded a fellowship by the 2013 John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.  Kobaslija was selected from a group of 3,000 applicants for his on-going project painting the earthquake and tsunami-devastated town of Kesennuma, Japan, and its reconstruction. The initial phase of the project, "One Hundred Views of Kesennuma: Paintings of Japan's Altered Landscape," was exhibited at the George Adams Gallery in 2012.
