An Important Partnership: The College, Parents, and Students

The entire staff of the Office of Student Life extends a warm welcome to the parents and families of Ringling College of Art and Design students. It is important for you to know we consider you a very important part of the Ringling College Community.

You've been through quite a few chapters with your son or daughter so far. From first steps to first loves, no one knows these experiences quite like you. However, it's time. It's time to flip the page and embark upon a brand new chapter the college years. It will be exciting, challenging, and rewarding for both you and your student and we are here to help you every step of the way.

We have designed several ways for you to communicate with us and to receive information to help support your students success. We hope these resources support the relationship between families, students, and the College. We realize families have been and will remain the most important resource for students; similarly Ringling College's Student Life staff is a resource for your student during his or her time here.

Common Purpose, Different Approach

The College, parents, family members, and students share a common purpose: we all want a successful, rewarding experience for your students. We all approach this goal from slightly different perspectives, and it is important we all keep that in mind as we go about our common purpose.

The College holds an obligation both to our students and their families. Sometimes honoring the one seems to run counter to the other. Delicate as it seems in the abstract, this balance works out easily and naturally in practice just about all of the time. Communicating and sharing relevant information appropriately is an important part of achieving this balance.

A digital pdf version of the Parent Handbook LINK, provides you with some of the information you will need to help support your son or daughter during their college years here at Ringling College of Art and Design.

This summer you will be receiving a number of items to help you transition your student to Ringling College this fall.
