Dear New Student:

We hope you enjoy your next four years as part of our campus community and the greater Sarasota community. You will have ample time to explore life beyond campus, and when you arrive on campus you will receive a 2012-2013 Student Handbook, which will provide you the information you will need to maximize your college years here at Ringling College of Art and Design.

Since many of our students are from states, territories, or countries outside of Florida, we want you to know you will soon reach paradise. There is no place quite like Sarasota. When you are not in classes, engaged in community service, or involved in leadership activities, you may just want to lie down with a good book and bronze yourself in the Florida sunshine. Walk along the waterline and beachcomb; you never know what you may discover. Get a taste of the salt water while sailing, swimming, or fishing. Take your sketchbooks everywhere you go. Sarasota is the cultural gem of the western coast of Florida. We take great pride and pleasure in being the center of a wide variety of artistic exhibitions offered. Museums, art galleries, ballet, symphonies, aquariums, and theaters are but a few of the places you can explore here. The choices you have are endless, and your only limitation will be time. Your four years here will go by much faster than you could ever imagine.

So, welcome, and engage in the journey of discovery while you are here!
