The Center for Career Services plans events to enhance curriculum and provide opportunities for students to grow beyond the classroom experience. We work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and students from all departments in developing schedules and presenting appropriate programs, recruiters and topics for the "Food for Thought" Training series.  

We welcome your suggestions and insights for future programing and special speakers.

Daniel Miyares is an author and illustrator of stories for children and Artist / Team Lead at Hallmark Cards.

He grew up in the foothills of South Carolina before studying at Ringling College of Art and Design. After graduating with a BFA in illustration he headed west to Kansas City where he now lives with his wife and their two children. For the past ten years he has collaborated with a number of clients including Hallmark Cards, Inc., Simon and Schuster, Charlesbridge Publishing, Imagine Books, National Geographic, Spider Magazine, Ladybug Magazine, and the Kansas City Star. Daniel has illustrated the books Waking Up Is Hard to Do and Bambino and Mr. Twain. His first book as author/illustrator, Pardon Me! was released earlier this year by Simon and Schuster.

Veteran Fast Launch Initiative - Manasota SCORE and the SCORE Foundation, in partnership with major corporations, is pleased to offer the new "Veteran Fast Launch" initiative which provides mentoring, tools and training to military and their families.

The new program is a package of training scholarships, free software and services combined with SCORE's mentoring program and special SBA loan programs in order to help accelerate the ability of veterans and their families to start and succeed as small business owners.
