Kimbrough Library contains over 230 artist’s books of all types. The collection is continually growing in size and scope, and includes handmade books of very small editions, offset limited edition productions and a number of altered books. There is no established agreement as to a clear definition of what constitutes an artist’s book and this term is often used interchangeably with the term “book arts”. The collection at Kimbrough Library contains books that are interdisciplinary and relevant to all the majors at Ringling.
Artist’s books can be viewed by appointment Monday through Friday, 9:00 – 5:00. Faculty members are encouraged to schedule appointments for classes. Contact Sarah Carter scarter2@ringling.edu for more information.
