From the creative, controlled environment of a studio shoot to the experiential side of going on location, you will explore photography from every angle.

From traditional darkroom techniques, to the endless possibilities stemming from the creative manipulation of images using the newest computer software - you will have at Ringling College the artistic freedom to explore many of the options available to today's professional photographer.

PDI Student Exhibition opens at the Englewood Art Center - February 18, 2012

PDI Student Exhibition opens this Saturday, February 18 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Englewood Art Center, Mitchell Gallery. The exhibit will be up until March 1. 

PDI seniors Bianca Morra, Krislin Kreis, Dieterik Tamson, Paul Patterson, Ari Gabel and Jeff Rose creatively explore a diverse range of contemporary photographic practices including fashion, documentary, conceptual and multimedia work.

PDI Hosts Acclaimed Documentary Photographer, Joseph Rodriguez

Internationally-recognized photographer, Joseph Rodriguez will lecture on "The Importance of Humanism in the Arts" on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the first floor of the Cooley Photography Center. Joseph Rodriguez was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. His work has appeared in such publications as American Photo, Black&White, ESPN, The New York Times Magazine, National Geographic and many others. He has received awards and grants from the USC Annenberg Institute for Justice and Journalism, the Open Society Institute, Justice Media Fellowship, Katrina Media Fellowship, National Endowment for the Arts, the Rockefeller Foundation, Mother Jones International Fund for Documentary Photography, Alicia Patterson Fellowship, Fund for Investigative Journalism, Konstnarsnamnden Stipendium Swedish Arts Council, and New York State Foundation for the Arts. He has been awarded Pictures of the Year by the National Press Photographers Association and the University of Missouri in 1990, 1992, 1996 and 2002.
