Medical Services
Ringling College is pleased to announce that we have partnered with Sarasota Memorial Hospital to provide basic health services to students in a new on-campus facility planned to open in the Fall of 2012. A Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant will be available 25 hours a week with medical oversight provided by Sarasota Memorial Hospital's comprehensive First Physicians Group of Sarasota. The new Student Health Center will be equipped to diagnose and treat most common illnesses and conditions. Ringling College assumes no liability for the care or treatment of students needing medical attention, and the College requires all degree-seeking students to carry health insurance. All students must either purchase the institution's health insurance or maintain insurance equal to or greater than that offered by the College. A mandatory health charge is part of the General Service Fee and students are required to complete a health information form upon matriculation (see below).
For information about the student insurance, please visit www.rcadstudentinsurance.com after

Mandatory Health Insurance
Ringling College of Art and Design assumes no liability for the care or treatment of students needing medical attention, and the College requires all degree-seeking students to carry health insurance. Group coverage underwritten by Pan-American Life Insurance Company, and administered by GM-Southwest, Inc., will be required for any student who fails to provide proof that they are covered under a comparable comprehensive health insurance plan.
All incoming students will automatically be enrolled in the insurance plan available through the College unless students elect to waive coverage and the waiver is approved. Students will need to complete an Online Enrollment/Waiver Form at www.rcadstudentinsurance.com. The online waiver and full plan brochure will be available on July 1, 2012. Questions regarding coverage or claims can be answered or by calling GM-Southwest at 1-800-477-4415 or emailing info@gmsouthwest.com. or by calling our Servicing Agent, Ms. Angie Black at 1-888-776-9920 or emailing ablack@academicinsurancesolutions.com
Once the waiver form is completed and approved, a full credit will be issued if completed by September 1, 2012. Students may enroll for coverage up to 31 calendar days after the start of the fall or spring semesters. Exceptions will be made to the established enrollment periods in the event the student suffers a loss of coverage under another plan due to ineligibility.
