Please note: EAC follows the schedule of Ringling College and will be closed from December 22, 2014 through January 5, 2015 in observance of Christmas and the New Year.

What's Happening Now

  • Bites & Bytes: Smart Phone Photography with Spencer Pullen
    Friday, December 19; 12:30pm - 2:30pm
    Enjoy your bagged lunch from home and we'll provide the treats you learn insider tips for creative ways to use your smart phone for photography. Some sessions may require a nominal fee, please RSVP with the front desk at 941.474.5548 to secure your spot
  • Be sure to come and check out the beautiful aqueous exhibition by the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society in the Loranger Gallery. The exhibit will only be open through Friday, December 19th (during normal business hours) so be sure to plan a visit to come and see it!
    We also have Mayra Ocasio Cuadrado and her collagraphs in the Mangrove Gallery through Thursday December 18, Norma Hilton and her watercolor paintings in the Members Gallery through Thursday, December 18, and Tom Cocotos and his collage work in the Mitchell Gallery through Wednesday, December 17.

NEW! - Dramatic Panorama with visiting artist Jan Christensen
January 14-15, 9am – 3pm | $225 
Move beyond the iPhone panorama to create professional-level large format images. Through hands-on field trip shooting, class discussion, and computer lab experience, learn how to capture and create multi-image, panoramic landscape compositions with digital SLR, telephoto lens, and Photoshop CC. This small class (max. 12 students) will provide hands-on skills for intermediate and advanced photographers. Requirements: digital format 35mm camera, lens that shoots at 70mm to 120mm and experience with Photoshop. Please contact the front desk to register 941/474.5548

The theme of the Englewood Art Center 2014 – 2015 season is Art Local.  As a community with a distinctively unique character—from the breathtaking gulf coast environment to its commitment to independent & small businesses and supporting the arts; EAC wants to ensure that residents and visitors alike participate in our local community, creatively.  Through classes, exhibitions, community programming and events, EAC wants artists, art enthusiasts and anyone else who wants to support the creative community in Englewood to join us this season.

    Accepting photography that captures the scenery, aesthetic, and essence of Florida's sun coast.
