Our volunteers help the Englewood Art Center promote knowledge, appreciation and development of visual arts in Englewood & surrounding communities.
If you are interested in becoming an EAC volunteer, we are looking for help throughout the season in the following positions:
Represent EAC at area events (6 to 8 person team): EAC is often asked to participate in community events (such as pioneer days, ArtSensation and others) but we need more than just the small staff to be able to participate. Volunteers on this team will pass out the schedule and talk to the general public about the Art Center to encourage participation in our classes/workshops, exhibitions and events.
Assist with receptions and events (4 to 6 people): Events and receptions bring lots of new faces to EAC and sometimes the staff cannot get to every person, so we need assistance with greeting visitors, giving tours and keeping the refreshments fresh.
Library (2 people): We have 3 great librarians, but as the Library is used more frequently for meetings and small classes (for example Poetry) we need additional volunteers to help keep the space and the shelves orderly and accurate.
Receiving and Removal for Loranger Gallery (2 people): We have a great system for the Receiving and Removal for Loranger Gallery shows, but we can always use some extra sets of hands and guidance, particularly for people who are entering an EAC show for the first time.
Writing articles for newsletter and collecting print materials about the Art Center (2 to 4 people): When we hear news about our members, instructors and artists, we like to include it in the newsletter. We’re looking for people to write short news articles about the people of EAC. In addition, if there are ever print articles about EAC or our constituents, we’re looking for help collecting and organizing that information.
Jurors and Judges for Loranger exhibitions (1 or 2 people): We like to keep the judging pool diverse, so we’d love to have a person or two to help recruit and coordinate the judges for these shows. We can often use Ringling College faculty as judges, but of course want to keep local qualified judges involved.
Open Studio Monitors (2 to 4 people): we can use help with open studios on Friday mornings; the Tuesday afternoon Pottery open studio (and a back-up monitor for Thursday mornings); and a studio monitor for the Digital Studio.
