Take the guesswork out of realistic drawing as you learn techniques to capture exactly what you see.  Explore methods for creating light and shadow, blending colors, measuring to retain proportion, capturing reflection, and drawing with transparency.  An overview of the basic principles of illustration will be covered.  All skill levels welcome.

Learn advanced techniques while strengthening your unique drawing style.  Course focuses on mark making techniques with multiple media while developing drawing principles such as contour, perspective, and volume.  Students will draw both inside and outside of the studio.  Previous drawing experience is recommended.

Render expressive figure drawings through a study of structure, anatomy, light, and shade. Learn to tone paper and block-in mass shapes as you create both gesture and contour drawings.  Compositional context and formal concerns specific to drawing the human figure from a live model will be emphasized.  Students will use a variety of media, including charcoal, conte, and ink.   All skill levels welcome.

Discover the pleasurable, little-known medium of colored pencils.  Develop your mark-making skills as you explore techniques for layering, blending, and achieving intense color and unusual hues.  This medium requires time and deliberate work, and your results will produce compelling pieces well worth your efforts.  Student should have basic drawing skills and knowledge of basic color.  Previous drawing experience recommended.
