Our modern jewelry studio at LBKCA is the place to begin your artistic journey into the world of Jewelry making. With large windows and skylights, artists work and enjoy the natural light and beautiful surroundings of Longboat Key. Our jewelry studio is furnished and fully equipped with individual workstations, flex shafts, soldering area, polishing room, rolling mills, and forming equipment including a Hydraulic press. Our studio can meet the needs of Jewelry artists at any level. 

Silver and some jewelry supplies can be purchased in class

Longboat Key Center for the Arts will be offering classes during the months of January through April 2014. Jewelry Making Using Silver & Brass

Course Description: Build a strong foundation in metal jewelry fabrication in this fun, fast-paced class.  Explore techniques
For making pins, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, and pendants from silver and/or brass.  Beginners will learn basic bench skills, including design, sawing, filing, drilling, texturing and finishing.  Intermediate students will be introduced to advanced techniques, such as stone setting.  All tools, benches, torches, and gas will be provided.  Silver, brass and some jewelry supplies may be purchased in class.  All skill levels welcome.

Course Description: Design and fabricate your own wearable works of art in this introduction to jewelry design.  Learn soldering and finishing techniques and how to use basic jewelry tools.  Follow step-by-step instructions to create one-of-a-kind bracelets, rings, and pendants.  Bring a sketchbook, inspirational images, and your imagination.  Silver, brass and some jewelry supplies may be purchased in class.  Beginner to Intermediate.

Course Description: Develop your bench skills while adding new techniques to your toolbox.  Learn stone setting, fold forming, stick soldering, and forging techniques.  You will be encouraged to develop your own unique design style and to discover ways to make each piece of jewelry distinctive.  Students will make necklaces, earrings, and pendants.  Bring a sketchbook, inspirational images, and your imagination.  Silver, brass and some jewelry supplies may be purchased in class.  Intermediate to Advanced.

Course Description: Use our professional jewelry studio as your own as you work to complete your jewelry projects or create new ones.  Receive valuable assistance, guidance, and feedback from a professional jeweler.  Students will be encouraged to push their creative vision and to think outside the box when approaching design and fabrication.  Please register in advance and bring a sketchbook, inspirational images, and your imagination.  All skill levels welcome.
