DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND THE CREATIVE PROCESS

This four part class will feature a hands on approach designed to stimulate creativity in the photographic process. The class will cover pre-visualizing and post-visualizing techniques in the classroom, in the field, and in the camera with photo applications like Photoshop and Elements. You will learn how to use the camera to tell your story and express ideas. You will learn composition techniques as well as how to critique your images to improve your vision and stimulate ideas for more creative photographic images.

 

ADVANCED DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Students who feel comfortable with their digital camera but would like to learn more about the art of photography should take this course.  You will have the opportunity to learn more about lighting technique, inside and out; on camera and off camera flash; and advanced camera operation for those who have completed the basics.

Taking a picture is just part of the digital photographic process. In this class you will learn the things photographers really need to do once the digital image has been captured. In this 4 week session, you will learn: (1) how to enhance your digital images 50 the look their best; (2) how to crop and resize your photos; (3) how to prepare your photos for printing or sending over the internet; (4) how to retouch pictures for better portraits; (5) how to cut and paste, creating composites for expressive art images; and (6) how to engage various creative techniques like HDR, simulating painting and more. A personal laptop is suggested, but not required for getting the most from this class.
