James Corwin Johnson’s interest in the latent image began around age seven, with a solar contact printer. When the time came to choose a career path the choice was to attend a freelance photography school, and from then on his course was set.

James went on to pursue a professional photographic career that has spanned over four decades and has taken him around the world. He is a published author, former Director of Photo Services in Yosemite Park for over 12 years, Onboard Photography Manager for the Disney Cruise Line Digital Development Team, Director of Education, Johnson Photo Imaging, Photography Manager Harrah’s Tahoe, and Photographer Club Med. Playa Blanca.

Today James is the Director of his own Studio Gallery in Sarasota, where he leads destination photography trips, and he teaches digital photography at Longboat Key Center for the Arts a Division of Ringling College of Art and Design.
