Wendy Surkis spent 25 years in the advertising business growing a one office advertising agency into an international firm with 18 branches, several hundred employees and $100 million in sales.

Eleven years ago she retired and moved to Siesta Key full time. Wendy has been the President of the Sarasota Museum of Art/SMOA, since its inception. SMOA is a division of Ringling College of Art and Design. Wendy is one of the Founding Members of the Sarasota Museum of Art – which will become Sarasota’s first art museum to be devoted to modern and contemporary art. She is also a Trustee at Ringling College.
