Kat Schuetz moved to Sarasota from Munich, Germany, in 2010 with her husband Florian and her two sons, Daniel and Nino. After finishing her MA’s degree in Business Administration in 1998, she first worked in the marketing department of Estée Lauder in Munich before she started managing the family properties. In 2007 Kat co-founded an art gallery project in Munich, nurjungekunst.de, supporting, curating and showing young artists, which is still active. In the last three years, she published two art books* and is currently working on two new book projects. She is also a founding member of the ZONTA Club - Munich Friedensengel, which is part of the worldwide operating ZONTA network, a non-for-profit organization, women helping women in need, founded 1919 in Chicago. Last but not least Kat is an active member of the Out of Door Academy (ODA)-Arts Guild, working on a yearly program of visiting artists, with the ultimate goal to establish a broad collaboration between SMOA, Ringling College of Art and Design and ODA.

Her love for the arts led her to engage with SMOA in 2011. In 2013 she became a member of the Board. Kat is striving to form an active and open art community in Sarasota, built around SMOA, leveraging her European experience and art network.
