Advertising Design: Faculty

Full-Time Faculty 

David Foote, B.F.A., M.F.A.
 

Maryland Institute College of Art (Graphic Design); Savannah College of Art and Design (Graphic Design). Mr. Foote comes to Ringling from Savannah College of Art and Design, where he held the positions of Professor of Graphic Design and Advertising Design, Advertising Design Department  Chair, and most recently Director of Academic Initiatives. He developed and produced the SCADDY’s, SCAD’s first campus-wide multi-major student awards. His 20 year career as an advertising professional has garnered a wide range of national and global clients, resulting in industry creative awards including a National ADDY® and a Clio.

Matt McCutchin, B.S., M.A.

University of Texas, Austin (Advertising); Harvard University (English and American Literature/Language) . Mr. McCutchin has spent over 20 years as an advertising creative in some of the nation's top agencies, as well as ten years teaching and mentoring students in two top creative advertising programs. His agency tenure includes such creative powerhouses as DDB Chicago, New York's Deutsch, Ammirati & Puris, and Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners, Boston's Arnold, and Dallas' Temerlin McCalin. He has created award-winning campaigns for numerous clients including Volkswagen, IKEA, Snapple, AT&T, State Farm, Midas, Compaq, Subaru, Bank of America, and The Home Depot. Mr. McCutchin has spent the past five years as a full-time faculty member of the Texas Creative program at UT-Austin, and taught previously at the Miami Ad School, West Virginia University, and Chicago Portfolio School. His former students have won most major industry awards, including Cannes Lions and One Show pencils. In his spare time, he is also a creative director, a musician and music producer.

Vivian Owen, B.A., M.A. 

Xavier University (Communications/Advertising); Michigan State University (Advertising). Ms. Owen has seven years of professional experience in the advertising industry, specifically in the creative and copywriting departments of the business. She comes to Ringling from The Zimmerman Agency in Tallahassee, FL where she held the position of Senior Copywriter. During her career, she has also worked at Doner in Detroit, Michigan and Barefoot Advertising in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ms. Owen has written ads for national clients such as The Ritz-Carlton, Aflac, Steak ‘n Shake, Expedia.com, Eureka, Sherwin Williams, Mr. Clean and Swiffer. Her work has been recognized through multiple industry awards in the ADDY® ’s competition and was most recently honored in Adweek’s Ad of the Day feature.


Long Term Part-time Faculty

Kim Litch, B.F.A., M.F.A. 

Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University (Studio Art - Photography & Sculpture); Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL (Sculpture, Installation, Mixed Media). Past teaching experience: St. Petersburg College; the Art Institute of Tampa; Florida State University. Works exhibited in group and solo shows throughout Florida, Georgia, Virginia, New Jersey and New York. Recipient of numerous awards and grants. Has worked as Art Director, NGC/CGC; Graphic Designer, Vision Graphics; Production, Showcase Publications. www.kimlitchart.com


Adjunct Faculty 

Angela Leed, B.F.A., M.F.A. 


Indiana University South Bend, IN (Graphic Design); Bowling Green State University, OH (2 Dimensional Studies). Ms. Leed’s work has been shown in exhibitions throughout Chicago, New York and Indiana. She has received numerous awards, including an Individual Artist Grant from the Indiana Arts Council. Support from the IAC made possible her traveling exhibition, Manufactured Community. In 2008, she brought together a communications agency and artist research staff to create the Inspirative gallery, through which, an internship program was created in partnership with Bethel College. www.angelaleed.com
