Important Update Regarding COVID-19

To our Ringling College Continuing Studies Community,

I am pleased to confirm that Ringling College of Art and Design does not have any known cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Nonetheless we are obviously very concerned about this situation moving forward. So, in an effort to maintain the paramount health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and community in all locations, we have made some difficult, yet preventive, decisions that I would like to share with you.

As we now know, the key to preventing the spread of this virus is by reducing high-density social interaction. The problem is that this is the very environment that we work so hard to create across Ringling College and what makes us so special.

Therefore, to be vigilant in mitigating the potential threat of the virus, we have decided to cancel all Ringling College Continuing Studies courses (including OLLI, S+DA, and EAC) and exhibition programming, effective March 16 and until further notice. All students, instructors, volunteers, and visitors are asked not to come to their respective campuses during this time.

You should know that I am personally distressed that we need to take this step because I believe so strongly in the benefits of and the necessity for lifelong learning. I assure you, however, that we will resume all courses and programming when we feel it is safe and responsible to do so.

Please stay connected with us during this time and follow updates on the Ringling College Continuing Studies website. You can also stay updated on the situation through the CDC and the WHO.

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation and understanding as we work hard to ensure the health and safety of our community. We will continue to communicate with you as the situation continues to evolve.

Very truly yours,

Larry R. Thompson, President
