Ringling Team Wins 2015 Walt Disney Imaginations Design Competition

February 3, 2015 - Disney Imaginations recently announced that the Ringling College team was chosen as the winner of the 2015 Walt Disney Imaginations Design Competition.

The Ringling team - made up of Elizabeth Fox (Interior Design major, Business of Art and Design minor), John McDonald (Computer Animation), Diana Han (Illustration) and Josh Newton (Illustration) - came up with a design called “New Orleans Double Rail” which features two separate elevated trains to satisfy the needs for both commuters and tourists coming to explore the city in an entertaining and unique way.

In this year’s competition, students were challenged to take what Disney does best today – from its world-class theme parks, resorts, cruise ships, and other entertainment venues that are globally highly popular with family - and apply it to transportation within a major city.

Six teams were selected as finalists and allowed to move on to the next level of the competition where they were awarded a trip to Glendale, California to present their final projects to the Imagineering executives and take part in an awards ceremony - and Ringling College team was declared the winner.
