Resources for Current Students

Ringling College believes that every student has a responsibility to be an engaged community member in addition to excelling academically. To that end, we are committed to providing you with the information and materials you need to vote in every election from local to presidential.

Ringling College students can use our online voting tool Turbo Vote to request a "Vote By Mail" (or absentee) ballot. When you sign up at the link below, you will be able to access everything you need to register to vote, stay registered to vote if you move, vote absentee, and get reminders about every local, state, and federal election regardless of where you move. And it's free to you! All Ringling College students may register to vote in Sarasota, but we suggest you research several items before choosing WHERE to register to vote. If you live in another county or state, there may be other items on the ballot that you wish to have a voice it (local candidates, state amendments, etc.). We also encourage you to check to see if registering in Sarasota could change your family's tax status, any scholarships you might have, insurance, etc. These are all individual decisions that should be carefully considered.

How TurboVote Works:

TurboVote simplifies the voting process so that you, the voters, can focus on what’s important: the candidates and questions on the ballot; however; like any other initiative, participation is pivotal -- you must take the first step and register online now. Voting not only allows each individual to make their voice heard, but also for our community to play a role in shaping decisions that affect all of us.

Users who sign up to use TurboVote can

  • Easily register to vote
  • Verify online whether you are already registered to vote or update your voter registration
  • Request pre-filled registration/absentee forms by mail.
  • Receive timely text messages and email reminders for every local, state and federal election, to ensure that you never miss a deadline, whether you go to the polls in person or cast ballots by mail.
