Resident Assistants (RAs) are upperclass students that live in residence and work together to create the most comfortable, supportive, and responsive living environment possible. Please feel free to turn to them for any needs you might have after your arrival.
Area Coordinators (ACs) are responsible for actively working with the Resident Assistants to develop a sense of community through community building and program development. Area Coordinators are also a liaison to the Residence Life Department for Resident Students and can answer any questions you may have about living on campus.
Hi, I'm Patricia Pete and I am a Digital Film major. I was born and raised right here in Sarasota, FL! As a native, I am familiar with the unique language and mannerisms of Sarasotians, but also conversationally fluent in the language of the Ringling artist. Need a translator? A tour guide? A good will peace ambassador as you learn more about this strange land of Sarasota? No worries, when I'm not out conquering the world, I'm quite easy to get a hold of via messenger bird and have a quick response time of 3-5 days, depending on how soon the bird reaches me. But in all seriousness, Ringling is a wonderful place where I get to learn and do more of what I love.
I’m an excited, slow-to-act, little girl, who has found the many things that make this life worth living. Sometimes I feel like a super hero to my friends and the cutest Nebraskan at Ringling, but instead I know I’m a little between the everyday human with her imperfections and the adventurer set out to plan my voyage. I’m a second year Graphic & Interactive Communication major with simple tastes. As a designer, I’m hardworking—staying with each project until it’s finished, obsessing over the details, and remaining positive. As a person, I love the beauty of natural things and am eager for new experiences, and this year will be the best one yet! I’m not sure what it will hold, but I’ve got courage in my heart, knowledge in my head, and the greatest crew to set sail with.
I’m Krystal Boersen, Motion Design with a short attention span and a raucous laugh, so if you happen to hear cackling in the commons or around campus, it might just be me making myself look like a loony again. My favorite condiment is peanut butter. I can have peanut butter on anything!— pizza, waffles, fruit, ice-cream. When I’m not running around making movies, I’m usually pouring over a computer or reading Batman Comics. If I could offer advice to any student, I would tell them to be themselves. Unless you can be Batman— always be Batman.
Hello! My name is Aleena and I can't wait to meet you all soon! My major is Graphic design. I was born in New York but I’ve been living in Florida since I was 6. I love the sunshine and I can't live without it. I love playing video games (mostly DotA 2), playing around with hand lettering and typography, and doodling orcs and elves. Some shows that give me life are Game of Thrones, Parks and Rec., Bob's Burgers, Adventure Time, and Steven Universe and I’m kind of sort of a huge classic Bollywood fan. I can't wait to hang out with you all and I hope you enjoy Ringling as much as I do (it's really awesome).
Hey! I'm Jeremy! I'm a junior Motion Design major from Illinois. I am part of the Ringling Quidditch Team; however, my favorite sport to play is ultimate Frisbee and/or Frisbee Golf. I'm a bit of a goofball sometime, but don't let that stop you from coming up and saying hey. Did I mention that I am a huge fan of cartoon shows? The classic 90's cartoon are my favorite, but I'll still watch any cartoon show there is. Can't wait to see you guys!!
Hi, I'm Sofia Keqian Wang, majoring Computer Animation. I'm originally from Wenzhou, a southern coastal city in China. I moved a lot. I used to live in Beijing for 4 years and Canada for 1 year. I now reside in Florida! I am a big fan of Totoro. I dream of owning a glasshouse where I can plant tropical flowers and keep a Totoro! Hope to see you around!
Hailing from the small state of Rhode Island is Dania (like "Tonya", but with a D). I like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain...oh, whoops wrong bio!
I made my way to Sarasota to become an illustrator. You can usually catch me on campus with a microphone in hand and camera crew behind me trying to snag interviews from unsuspecting students for "Art Network", Ringling's television station. I loves the beach, Saturday Night Live, and basically every musical. My dream is to be best friends with Daenerys Targaryen. If you see me make sure to say hi!
I’m Rachel Thompson, and I’m an Illustration student from North Carolina. I’m interested in Visual Development for Animation, and I have really learned a lot from all the great classes here at Ringling. I have a love-hate relationship going on with Photoshop, but I can’t complain because I am doing what makes me happy; creating awesome artwork that hopefully everyone loves as much as I do. And as long as you don’t spoil Game of Thrones for me, I hope to make your experience here at Ringling just as awesome as mine has been!
Hello there! My name is Karen and I am a Computer Animation major from the Dominican Republic. I am a person that would love to talk, share, and get to know you as best as I can. I have a distinct sense of humor and love to make people laugh. I find immense pleasure in puns and simple run-on jokes. I also really like stories of all kinds, especially like the classics live Stoker’s Dracula, Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, and The Tales of the Brothers Grim.
In my spare time, I like to read and write short stories, watching animated movies, and cartoons. My favorite animated movies are Monsters Inc. and its prequel Monsters University. I am a huge anime fan, and love to spend most of my free time reading manga. My favorite genres to read and write about are horror and romance. I appreciate a good villain, and enjoy the fall and rise of the hero most of all.
I also really enjoy travelling and eating all sorts of new foods. I try to make time and go out to explore different places to eat. Coming from a Latin culture, I can cook up some mean traditional dishes. As quiet as I may be, don’t be afraid to say hi! I’m so excited to meet new people and I’m sure there’s plenty we can talk about J
Hey! I'm Ellen, and I'm a computer animation major from Missouri. I tend to find myself talking too much, I like to spend as much time as I can outdoors, and I love nothing more than spending time with my friends and family. In my free time I love to bike, run, kayak, or go draw at some cafe here in Sarasota. If I can, I will listen to music nonstop all day, and I enjoy attempting to play my guitar. I like to get lost in my mind trying to find ideas and stories, but love to bounce ideas around with others even more. My favorite things about being a Ringling student are being surrounded by amazing artists and getting to pursue what I love. Ringling is unlike any place I have ever been because it has people who bring out the best in you that are driven and passionate about creating. Everyday on campus is a new adventure with new challenges, drawings, and stories to find and tell. If you see me around, come say hi, I love meeting new people! I enjoy every minute of my time here and would never change it for anything in the world.
I'm Robin Thompson, and I'm an Illustration major that hails from the Eastern Plains of North Carolina. I love Ringling because of the intimacy of the campus, and the closeness of all the students. I also love big dogs, dark chocolate, party hats, drawing funny pictures of people, 90s cartoons, milkshakes, useless toys, crude humor, ping pong, oldies music, huge eyebrows, frisbee at twilight, everything medieval, clothes with holes in them, incredibly bad movies/television, serious beards, exactly 3 cups of coffee, fat squirrel watching, piña coladas, and getting caught in the rain. I really like getting to know people, so if you do too I'm always down to chat.
I’m Russell, a Graphic and Interactive Communications major. I’m from Lakeland, Florida and I love bonfires, beaches, boating, and country music. My first experience with Ringling was on a field trip in my freshman year of high school. From there, I attended PreCollege and the rest is history! We do a lot of work here at Ringling but there is always room for fun too. I like to spend my free time in the gym, on the beach, or playing Super Smash in the common rooms (it gets very competitive). Living on campus is a great experience!
This is Robson, a student in Advertising Design. My bio for most social media sites goes “concept, design, copy—all day everyday” but I figured this one needs to be a tad bit longer...
I came to Sarasota from the equally sunny Singapore. Ringling is officially my home away from home and boy, do I love it here! What you’ve heard about Ringling is probably true—a lot of hard work, and very little sleep. But the amazing amount of talent and potential is truly astounding!
Being an R.A. gives me the opportunity to connect with the community all around me. It’s beyond wonderful to be able to meet with so many fellow artists and professionals in the field! As someone who often finds himself working into the night, I can say that coffee is my passion. That, and food. And dressing up for nothing.
Enough about me. Here’s a shoutout to the Goldstein Penthouse (where I am currently RA): I LOVE Y’ALLL!!!!
Heya! I'm Courtney, a Computer Animation major and a Pennsylvanian mountain girl hailing from a small town in the Poconos. I'm super-stoked to be here at Ringling, studying alongside so many passionate and inspiring individuals. During my free time, I enjoy cooking Filipino food, watching silly cat videos and playing JRPGs rife with cliche plot twists. I also have an addiction to coffee and tea, and I like collecting mugs for said coffee and tea. Come to Keating Hall sometime hang out with me and my homie Mary the Ghost, yeah!?
Born in the alleyways of Rio, raised on plantains and fish bones- I came to America in 1974 on a soccer scholarship with the hopes of one day learning the art of photography. I first started with a disposable camera, taking pictures of old people, and followed that dusty trail to Sarasota. I have made my new home here, and became an RA to share my love of red hair with my peers.
Hey there! My name is Elizabeth Fox and I’m from the far away land of Tampa, Florida. I’m an Interior Design major and I’m always swooning over color, patterns and good design. I’m a self-proclaimed workaholic, but I’m talking and laughing all the time. I’m a bit of a goofball and I love having fun and being around people. My first year at Ringling was the best and most challenging time I’ve gone through so far, and life has never looked more beautiful after being at such an amazing and inspiring art school.
Hi there! My name is Ariel, like the mermaid (fun fact: my actual namesake.) I'm a Computer Animation major hailing from the west coast of California, and came all the way out here because I heard this place was particularly good at teaching that art thing. I definitely could not have chosen a better place for four years of inspiration, awesome memories, and serious growing.
When I'm not staring at a computer screen, I like running around outside and going on Sarasota adventures with fellow wilderness explorers. I also like smiling a lot, in person and online via keyboard keys :) To answer your question, I am in fact not Jewish. I think random hello's make the day better, so don't be shy to say hi! :D
Heyo! My name is Kyle and I hail from both Wisconsin and Chicago. After years and varieties of trials, I finally claimed my place in Ringling’s Computer Animation program. I love cookies, voice-impressions, and value true blue, open-mindedness. I think I might be kind of a spacey guy, but please say hey anytime!
What’s up, guys! I’m Kevin, a Game Art and Design major here at Ringling! I’m from Washington D.C. and am loving the weather down here in Florida. I love working out at the gym, running, and all kinds of fitness. I’m also a total dork when it comes to comic books and video games, so if any of you are down to lift or challenge me to a shootout in Call of Duty, bring you’re “A” game!
Hey, my name is Madelyn Cordeiro but I'm more commonly referred to as Madé. I'm an illustration major and RA for the second floor of Goldstein. In my spare time I like to sleep and watch my favorite movie Moulin Rouge. I also enjoy rabbits and a variety of dairy products. My dream is to one day be the favorite child and educate people on the dangers of cultural appropriation.
Greetings! My name is Michelle. I am a Computer Animation major. I am from the state of Texas, near the Dallas area. I enjoy eating delicious foods. A few examples of these delicious foods include Korean food, steak, pasta, tonkatsu, tiramisu, chocolate strawberries and sushi. I also enjoy watching various TV shows and cartoons. My current favorite shows are Adventure Time and Game Of Thrones. I find horror movies involving supernatural elements and mystery an entertaining genre. I hope to have many adventures this year and make numerous fond memories!
Fear not, fellow residents, for I- The Great Resilard shall save you from the oppression that is homework. I am studying Illustration. Join me in my empire of houses, as we regale about our past victories and prepare for the war on time- stealing back those precious hours of sleep that are rightfully “hours”.
My name is Ben Girdwood, I was born in the streets of London during the industrial revolution. I and am an Illustration major and I am proud to attend Ringling College because I know everything I learn here will help me get where I want in life. I have given myself a tremendous opportunity by going here and I am very satisfied with where I am in my life right now. I love Illustration. God save the Queen.
Hey, I’m Brittany! I’m a Game Art and Design major, and absolutely love it here at Ringling. I was born in Indiana, but moved to Florida when I was about 2 years old and have lived here ever since. I've had an amazing time studying and meeting the people here, and I couldn't imagine going to college anywhere else. My friends usually describe me as a contradiction because I was a cheerleader who competed in body building competitions and loves video games! So if you ever want to talk, work out, or have an epic video gaming battle (in which you will get owned) feel free to come hang out!
Hi! My name is Alekhya or you can call me Lakes, either one. I am a second year Motion Design student. I was born in India but I have in lived in Columbus, Ohio for most of my life. I love to talk and find it quite difficult to stop, so come find me anytime if want to chat. I love meeting new people, Facetiming my puppy, and going on morning jogs. I love winter and miss the snow and chilly northern air. My experience at Ringling has been amazing so far and I hope to make yours amazing too!
I'm Jon and I'm from Pennsylvania. I came to Sarasota to try and learn how to pay bills by making pictures. I like strawberries, peaches, and walks on the beach. I'm also a fan of napping, eating, arguing, sci-fi, theoretical and/or quantum physics, crude drawings done in crayon, H.P. Lovecraft, sad movies, portraiture, magic, giant monsters, mediocre photography, giant robots, dogs, being reminded we're all insignificant by the vast reaches of space and sand castles. I'm not a fan of double-parked cars, spoiled food, spilled milk (makes me cry), stuffed animals, killing bugs, and being beaten up by girls. If you like the things I like, that's cool. We can talk about that.
Hello! I'm Morgan and I hail from the far-off land of Orlando. I am in Illustration and I'm very excited to be an RA this year. I've always admired the RAs on campus and how they help foster the wonderful community that Ringling has and I can't wait to be a part of that this year. Say, 'hi' if you see me around on campus. We can chat about bad horror movies, roller derby, covert CIA operations, or full-contact origami.
