Ringling Votes

Ringling College advocates for civic engagement with our Ringling Votes initiatives.

Ringling Votes is an initiative led by Ringling students and staff in collaboration with community partners to increase civic engagement throughout campus. Recognizing the importance of civic engagement, the College supports civic-minded students by offering opportunities to become well-informed about election processes, register to vote, and get to the polls.

The College earned ALL IN’s Highly Established Action Plan Seal for the 2024 election cycle for developing a nonpartisan democratic engagement action plan based on the Strengthening American Democracy Action Planning Guide (SADG) Rubric. In 2023, we received a Voter Friendly Campus designation by the national nonpartisan organization Campus Vote Project and NASPA: Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. In 2020, nearly 82% of Ringling College students were registered to vote, and 62% cast their ballots.

2024 Elections

Primary Election — August 20, 2024

Although it is a primary election, you do not need to be registered as a Republican or a Democrat to vote for the nonpartisan races on the ballot. Please look up your precinct to view your ballot.

Some races will only appear on registered Republicans or registered Democrats ballots.

There are many races on the Aug. 20 ballot in Sarasota and Manatee counties, so we encourage all eligible Ringling College students to turn out and vote.

You have three ways to vote:

  • Vote by mail – Any Ringling College student who is an eligible voter in Florida can vote by mail.
  • Vote during Early voting – Any Ringling College student who is an eligible voter in Florida can vote early.
  • Vote on Election Day – You must vote at your assigned polling location.

If you’re registered to vote in Florida elections, we’re here to help make sure you can vote with confidence in this election. Questions? Email vote@ringling.edu.
