About Ringling College and 'Sugar'
Students and alumni of the Ringling College Film Program and acclaimed actor, writer and director Dylan McDermott worked on the production of Dylan’s new web series ‘Sugar.’ Shot on locations around Sarasota and in the studio, ‘Sugar’ chronicles the life a young woman who becomes a victim of human trafficking and who, in the depth of her despair, manages to find hope - and herself.
‘Sugar’ was produced by Ringling College and Semkhor Productions. It is the result of a year of collaborative effort by Dylan and Ringling students and staff as they worked together to visualize the project, conceptualize key elements, cast the production, finalize preproduction and ramp up to the actual shoot, which took place over the last week of May and first week of June, 2016.
