We believe that in today’s creative economy, art and technology go hand in hand. In their first year at Ringling College, students receive both a high-end notebook and a tablet, fully loaded with software that is tailored to their academic programs and based on their specific technical needs.
The notebooks have been thoughtfully selected to support each student’s academic studies. They offer a versatile platform for academic and creative pursuits. With stylus input and drawing capabilities, every student will be able to explore creative avenues and enhance their artistic practices.

Business of Art and Design, Creative Writing, Entertainment Design, Film, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography and Imaging, and Visual Studies students all receive the notebook that is synonymous with art and design.

Computer Animation, Game Art, and Virtual Reality majors receive the brand-new OLED pen display that is the thinnest and lightest display on the market.

Business of Art and Design, Creative Writing, Entertainment Design, Film, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration, Motion Design, Photography and Imaging, and Visual Studies students all receive the pro tablet with M2 processor and OLED display.

In addition to the personal notebooks and tablets that are provided to each student, the campus houses 43 computer labs, with 760 computers including:

Film and Sound Design Equipment
Cameras
Arri, Canon, Blackmagic, and DJI Ronin 4D digital cinema cameras are used by students majoring in Film. All students can check out cameras from the digital checkout.
Lights
Students in the Film program have access to LED lights from Arri and Aputure.

- Two Dolby-Tuned Mix rooms supporting 5.1 to theatrical Dolby ATMOS®
- ADR/Foley Stage with two Video Monitors, and Line-of-Sight Control Room, 8 Foley Pits
- 1,800-sq-ft treated recording space with copper attached control room housing Avid S6, 24 inputs, and 5.1 Meyer Sound monitoring
- DaVinci Resolve powered color grading room equipped with the DaVinci Resolve Advanced Panel, a Sony Critical Reference Monitor, and a Blackmagic Design SmartView Duo 2 Dual 8-inch Intelligent 6G-SDI Rack Monitors.
