The DEEP Certificate Program is designed to enhance the knowledge and awareness of Ringling College faculty, staff, and students on key issues that resonate with our campus community. Through a mix of engaging workshops and participation in multicultural events, the program helps enrich our community.

Flexible workshop enrollment

You can choose workshops in any order and at your own pace.

To receive the DEEP Certificate:

Certificate levels:

  • Level 1: Foundations
    • Complete four workshops and two on-campus multicultural events.
  • Level 2: Advancement Engagement
    • Complete eight workshops and four multicultural events (on or off-campus).

Event tracking:

Participants can keep track of their multicultural event attendance by downloading the Record of Event Participation Form and getting it signed by the event coordinator at each event. Further instructions will be provided in each workshop.

Pre-Workshop Events:

Note that multicultural events attended before starting the workshops may not be counted.

All sessions run from 11:30 am-12:20 pm in various locations. Lunch will be served.

It’s Not Hypothetical: Title IX in Real Life

Forget the legal jargon. This interactive session uses realistic scenarios, from classrooms to group chats to social spaces, to explain how Title IX works, when it applies, and what to do if something doesn’t feel right. Learn your rights, your options, and how to support others.

Things Veterans Want You To Know

This workshop highlights what veterans want civilians and educators to understand about military culture. Participants will learn key insights for engaging respectfully and meaningfully with those who have served while recognizing the diversity of military experiences and how service can shape identity, values, and perspectives.

Neurodiversity In Our Words: A Panel of Students Share Their Experiences

Friday, April 10

Academic Center Auditorium

In this panel, students share their lived experiences as neurodivergent learners, offering insight into how neurodiversity shapes their academic, social, and personal lives. Through their stories, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the diversity within neurodivergent identities and learn how faculty and staff can create more inclusive, supportive environments that recognize different ways of thinking, learning, and engaging.

  1. Log in to Workday
  2. Click on Menu in the top left corner, then select Learning
  3. Click on Discover on the left-hand side, then Browse Learning
  4. Type in DEEP in the search bar, then click Search

What is the DEEP Certificate Program?

The DEEP Certificate Program is a great way for Ringling College faculty, staff, and students to get more informed about key issues related to identity, cultural understanding. It’s designed to increase awareness and create a more inclusive environment on campus.

How does the DEEP Certificate work?

The program is super flexible! You can choose which workshops to take in any order, and you can complete them at your own pace. It’s up to you how you tackle the program.

What do I need to do to earn the DEEP Certificate?

There are two levels of the DEEP Certificate:

Level 1: Foundations
Complete 4 workshops
Attend 2 on-campus multicultural events

Level 2: Advancement Engagement
Complete 8 workshops
Attend 4 multicultural events (these can be on-campus or off-campus)

How do I track my multicultural event attendance?

You will need to keep track of your multicultural event participation using the Record of Event Participation form. Be sure to get it signed by the event coordinator, OR alternatively, take a selfie at the event as proof that you were there. You need some sort of documentation to confirm your attendance.

Once you have met all the requirements, fill out the final form, attach your event proof, and email it to hrmail@ringling.edu.

Can I count multicultural events I attended before starting the workshops?

Unfortunately, no. Only the events you attend after you start the workshops will count toward your DEEP Certificate.

What happens after I finish all the requirements?

When you have completed everything, fill out the required Application form , attach your proof of event participation, and send it to hrmail@ringling.edu to receive your certificate!

Take your time and enjoy learning through the workshops and events. This program is all about deepening your understanding and contributing to an inclusive community at Ringling College.
