Avant-Garde

Ringling College of Art and Design’s annual fundraiser Avant-Garde is committed to raising funds for student scholarships. Scholarships bridge the gap between the cost of a college education and the resources of the college student. Education and success go hand in hand. But what if a deserving student misses the opportunity to become a successful entrepreneur, filmmaker, teacher, or artist due to financial constraints?

Scholarships empower students to pursue their dreams, motivate them to aim high, encourage them to pay it forward, and prepare them for a lifetime of achievement. More than 90% of Ringling College students qualify for need and merit-based support, and most could not attend without scholarship assistance.

All of the proceeds from Ringling College’s Annual Golf Tournament and Avant-Garde celebrations support student scholarships at Ringling College. Together, we can continue to transform the lives of these aspiring artists and designers.

As Ringling College’s signature annual costume gala, Avant-Garde entertains partygoers with dinner, dancing, and an extravaganza of exciting student work. All proceeds directly impact Ringling College students by providing scholarship support.

2023 Gala: Ringling College Rocks the 70s

Join us as the Ringling College campus is transformed into a Boogie Wonderland, back to a time when art didn’t just reflect, but also changed, the world. Let’s get it on with costumes, cocktails, dinner, dancing, an auction, and more. Dust off your groovy 70s threads or wear cocktail attire if you prefer. This year we are collectively showcasing students and their work across all majors, as well as highlighting the INDEX program (Industry Experience at Ringling College).

Spaces

The Alfred R. Goldstein Library features a wide variety of quiet, group study, and work process spaces. Looking for a quiet study area? Make your way up to the 3rd floor to look for a book in the Research Collection or peruse the new art magazines while relaxing in comfortable seating. When the weather is nice, you can take your coffee from Roberta’s Café on the first floor to one of the four terraces to work outside and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. Looking for meeting space to get together with a group? Check out the group study rooms, which are available on all three floors of the Goldstein Library. The 10 group study rooms are available to students on a first-come first served basis, or available for booking by Ringling College faculty and staff for group and class meetings.
