Stay fit and active at Ringling College

Ringling College believes that wellness is essential for optimal academic performance. Students are encouraged to get involved with clubs, organizations, and local outings. Recreation and Wellness is one of the fastest-growing departments at Ringling. With the addition of more hours, more events, more club sports than ever, and a partnership with HealthFit, you will not want to miss any of the opportunities.

Recreation and Wellness Opportunities:

Susan Palmer Fitness Center

For those who like to get their hearts pumping and their bodies moving, the on-campus Susan Palmer Fitness Center offers a number of options. Students can attend one of the HealthFit classes from yoga to HIIT to Bodyweight classes, sign up for free personal training, or put on their headphones and work out solo with our countless cardio and weight machines, free weights, medicine balls, resistance bands, and more, at no cost to students.

Located on the first floor of the Ulla Searing Student Center.

The center is open Monday-Thursday, from 6-12 am, Friday from 6 am-9 pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 1-7 pm when classes are in session. Hours are limited during breaks.

The fitness center has extended membership to official Ringling College guests of Faculty and Staff. To request access email Recreation and Wellness.

HealthFit partnership

Recreation and Wellness is proud to present a partnership with HealthFit via Sarasota Memorial Hospital. HealthFit allows students to sign up for free Nutrition sessions with a Registered Dietitian, sign up for free Personal Training, or attend free Group Fitness classes. Students can get involved by attending the HealthFit Health Fair during the first week of the semester and sign up for both Nutrition and Personal Training.

Esports

The Ringling Rollers are the College’s championship-winning Esports team. Their Varsity team has amassed the Overwatch, Valorant, and Super Smash Bros titles, plus two league titles.

Club Sports

Club Sports are a driving force for competition and social activities on the Ringling campus. We currently have more Club Sports than ever before, with 11 total clubs, engaging over 100 students.

Outdoor Recreation

For students looking to get involved in the Sarasota community by being outdoors, the Outdoor Recreation program offers trips and activities such as cleaning up the Bayou, kayaking, visits to Celery Fields, walks to Indian Beach, and more. To get involved, be sure to sign up for trips when they become available on Ringlink.

Recreation Trips

Ringling Recreation and Wellness hosts several trips each year, allowing students to enjoy exploring the surrounding area and forge friendships.

Students can sign up for trips via Ringlink when emails are sent out.

Past trips have included swimming with manatees, Treeumph, Lightning, Buccaneers, and Rays games, ice skating, the farmers market, a yoga trip, a Marauders game, and more!
