Sami Shade (she/her)
Ringling College of Art and Design Illustration fourth-year student
Sami Shade is a Navy veteran and a first-generation college student pursuing a career in illustration. After enlisting in the Navy as a means to pursue better opportunities, Sami gained invaluable experience working with people from diverse backgrounds. Transitioning from the Navy to college life, Sami faced challenges. Despite these hurdles, Sami’s unique perspective as a veteran enriches her academic journey, and she’s dedicated to learning, growing, and connecting with others in the creative industry.

Zeta Bengoechea (she/her)
Ringling College of Art and Design Illustration second-year student
Zeta Bengoechea is an international student originally from Argentina, who has lived and studied in multiple countries, including Hong Kong and the United States. A first-generation college student, Zeta overcame language barriers and the challenges of adapting to new educational systems in each place she’s called home. She is passionate about sharing her experiences as an international student and promoting the value of cultural diversity.
