Technology on Campus

At Ringling College, we believe that in today’s creative economy, art and technology go hand in hand. First-year students at Ringling College, receive a personal notebook computer with access to the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite. Both hardware and software maintenance support for this notebook are provided for the duration of your study.

Your notebook has been thoughtfully selected to support your academic studies, offering a versatile platform for academic and creative pursuits. With stylus input and drawing capabilities, every student will be able to explore creative avenues and enhance their artistic endeavors. We want to make sure that no matter where your inspiration leads you, we offer the resources to back you up. On campus, we offer labs stocked with Macintosh computers, PCs, Cintiq Pro pen displays, 3D printers, laser cutters, and so much more. Students also have access to large-format printing and can use our digital checkout services to utilize a fantastic array of high-tech gear like game consoles, video cameras, and digital projectors.

And, of course, our campus is equipped with ample Wi-Fi coverage and fast internet access. We are here to support you and to make sure you never have to slow down.

Work from anywhere

Ringling College has embraced virtual and cloud technologies to support our user community. Cloud technologies enable our students to access their projects and work whenever and wherever they want, from almost any device.

The Ringling College Apollo initiative is a cloud-based computer platform that allows you to access your own desktop from almost any device, anywhere, anytime with high-resolution support and 3D graphics capabilities. This means you have the the freedom to access your projects just as you left them — from a lab workstation or your desktop, notebook, smartphone, or tablet — effectively turning your device of choice into a portal to a powerful, mobile workstation comparable to your typical Windows workstation with 3D applications capable of supporting Maya and Zbrush.

At Ringling College, we strive to make technology resources readily available everywhere. You’ll find our technology is abundant, advanced, and tailored to meet the needs of artists and designers. General purpose and discipline-specific hardware, such as cutting-edge workstations with software, such as ZBrush, are deployed in over 40 instructional computer laboratories across campus.
