Alum’s Pixar series coming to Disney+ Feb. 19

Win or Lose, an animated series co-created by Michael Yates ’14, Computer Animation, debuts on Disney+ Feb. 19. It marks the first original series from Pixar Animation Studios.

Billed as, “One story, told from eight sides,” Win or Lose uses a variety of animation styles to showcase the unique perspectives of eight characters over the same intertwining story—all leading up to a middle school championship softball game. The voice cast includes comedy veteran Will Forte.

Yates, a Ringling Alumni Honor Wall recipient in 2022, co-created, wrote, directed, and executive produced the series with Carrie Hobson. His previous Pixar credits include work on Soul, Turning Red, and Toy Story 4.
