Miami-based multimedia artist Chris Friday spoke to WUSF’s The Zest Podcast host Dalia Colon about her sculptural works in her solo show at Sarasota Art Museum, Where We Never Grow Old. The two discuss Friday’s relationship to and philosophy around food as a safe haven for African Americans, and her journey as an artist. The exhibit features gold leaf-covered ceramic sculptures of soul food favorites installed in an altar-like display on the wall.
