LexJet & Ringling College Host “Power of Print” Workshop

This week, LexJet, a subsidiary of S-One Holdings Corp., headquartered in Sarasota, Fla., hosted a dynamic workshop called the “Power of Print” with Canon and Thomas Carabasi, Department Head for Photography and Imaging at Ringling College of Art and Design.

The day-long event, 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, focused on how photographers, artists, creatives an, printers can grow their business through state-of-the-art print equipment and software, as well as insider tips on selling, customer service and workflow efficiencies. 

Attendees learned valuable skills — from equipment to media choices to color management — to sharpen their skills and grow their businesses. Four leading industry experts discussed how print is still a unique and effective channel of communication, as well as how print can work within the modern-day marketing mix.

Starting the day, professional photographer Alan Winslow delivered the “Low Down on Printing,” which covered printing fundamentals, such as choosing the right paper, monitor calibration, printer settings and more. Next up, photography and cinematography entrepreneur MaKayla Jade discussed the power of storytelling in  “Selling & Serving: Secrets to $5,000+ Print & Album Sales.”

After lunch, LexJet’s Michael Clementi discussed “Enhancing Your Success with Inkjet Printing,” to cover topics like investing in the right equipment and showing an ROI for it. The seminars rounded out with professional photographer Clay Blackmore, who discussed “Printing for Profit,’ focusing on adding to the bottom line with in-house printing tips. He also demonstrated his new camera techniques.

The evening concluded with a dinner and moderated Q&A. The program was sponsored by Canon, Fundy Designer, Used Photo Pro, ImagePrint, X-Rite, Dury’s, and LexJet.
