Registration Information
Registration for First Year Students
Academic advisors will register all newly admitted students for classes. This is a manual process that is completed throughout the summer upon evaluating each student file, which includes posting transfer credit that has been received on an official transcript.
As part of the admissions process, admitted students must send final, official transcripts from all schools listed on the Ringling College admissions application, including dual enrollment and pre-college transcripts.
College credit earned from AICE, AP, or IB programs is accepted depending on the scores and official scores/transcripts need to be sent. A final transcript will have grades posted for all classes and a date of graduation if applicable. Advisors will evaluate these official transcripts and will post transfer credit earned to the student record.
Students can view their class schedule on the Self-Service portal. Students should check their schedule before and after New Student Orientation, as schedules can change throughout the summer pending various factors.
Students may not change pre-set schedules. The degree programs are designed with a specific sequence of studio courses that must be taken in order. Additionally, the studio class sizes are kept low and as even enrollment as possible to ensure faculty can have equal amounts of time to work one-on-one with students. Students may contact their advisor to discuss schedule issues
Registration for Continuing Students
Registration typical beings in April and November for continuing students. Continuing students should register on their assigned day, based on year in degree program.
Specific registration information is posted on the Ringling College portal each semester and the class schedule is typically published a month before registration begins. Students are encouraged to check their academic plan and make an appointment with their advisor to discuss current semester academic progress and to plan ahead for the next semester.
For immediate questions and concerns about registration or your class schedule, email your assigned advisor. This is the best way for advisors to serve students, especially during peak advising and registration times.
If an advisor has registered a continuing student for classes, these are pre-set schedules and are not to be changed.
