The Sixties

1966

Wendell Minor, Commercial Design, had a solo exhibition, American Stories, curated by Stephanie Plunkett, at The Cornwall Library, Cornwall, Connecticut, from November 2025 to January 2026. His art is in the group show Brief Histories of Illustration: The Abyss at the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, from January to May 2026.

1968

Don McCartney, Commercial Design, exhibited The Art of Money at JOR Fine Art Gallery in Clayton, California, from March to April 2025. In July 2025, he adapted his logo design for the Sausalito Center for the Arts for the building signage. Don gave a keynote presentation at the Blackhawk Gallery in Danville, California, about his work Nevertheless, in March 2026. Don’s studio is in Marin County, California, where he is completing design and production for the upcoming book, Thirty Words, by Jim Wood.

1970

Pam Beagle-Daresta, Fashion Design, was in residency at The ELF School in Hayesville, North Carolina, in January 2026. She exhibited in a solo show, Pieces of the Journey, at the Mable House Art Center, Mableton, Georgia, from September to November 2025.

1972

Bill Mayer, Advertising Design, in 2025 published Strange Dreams, a collection of 150 of his surreal gouache paintings, and had work appear in national illustration competitions, on puzzles and playing cards from the New York Puzzle Company, and featured in The New York Times, Last Week Tonight, Penguin Random House, and more.

1973

Don MacIntosh, Advertising Design, sold a series of watercolors of local historic sites to the City of Stuart, Florida, which enlarged them to display on panels to rebrand their City Utilities Department vehicles. Don serves on the board of directors for Stuart Heritage Museum and the Martin County Business Exchange.

1974

Edwin Young, Advertising Design, and spouse Chandra (Wood) Young ’74, Interior Design, who met while students at Ringling College of Art and Design, continue to be vibrant contributors to Greensboro, North Carolina’s creative community. Last October, they helped revive the much-anticipated Westerwood Art & Sole––an art walk and studio tour returning after a long pause since the pandemic. Chandra co-chaired the event, serving as the spark that brought it back to life, while Ed designed its new logo and opened his studio as one of 30 on the tour. The event drew over 750 art lovers, with many participating artists donating a portion of their proceeds to the Western North Carolina Artist Relief Fund. Adding to a year full of celebrations, Ed and Chandra recently marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a month-long stay in Venice, Italy, where they enjoyed the Art Biennale and reflected on a lifetime of shared creativity.

Regan Dunnick, Painting, exhibited a solo show of new work at Sarasota’s 502 Gallery in April 2026. Regan celebrated his 40th year teaching at Ringling College in the 2025-26 school year. He is represented by Lindgren & Smith.

Debra (Kauffman) Yaun, Graphic Design, exhibited in 2025: Georgia’s Thomasville 30th Annual Wildlife Arts Festival, MCMA Metro Montage, and Tannery Row Spring Juried Exhibition. She is an instructor at Johns Creek Art Center and an ambassador for Ampersand, Holbein, Legion Paper, and General Pencil. 1986

Michele (Graham) Vair, Graphic Design, exhibited in Alternate Paths, a group show at Rochester’s Flower City Art Center in September 2025. Michele joined ArtSpace 36 Gallery, part of Finger Lakes Community College, in Canandaigua, New York, as exhibitions coordinator in June 2025. Her studio is in Newark, New York.

1988

Diane (DeLaMater) Schmidt, AWS, NWS, Fine Arts, exhibited in the Petticoat Painters’ group show, Now You See Us, at the City of Sarasota’s City Hall Cultural Heritage Exhibit, from March 2025 to March 2026. For over 30 years, Diane has exhibited nationally and internationally, including China, Spain, France, and Wales, and has won over 100 awards in competitive shows. Diane’s studio is based in Sarasota.

1989

Aaron Blaise, Illustration, won an Annie Award for Best Short Subject for his film, Snow Bear, produced by Nick Burch ’02, Computer Animation, in February 2025.  Snow Bear garnered 40 wins and 60 nominations at international and domestic film festivals. Snow Bear – The Card Game was released in March 2026. Their studio, The Art of Aaron Blaise, is in the greater Orlando area.

Amy Neufeld, Illustration, exhibited in the group show, Blind Spot at MORA, Museum of International Art, in April 2025 in Jersey City, New Jersey, and the Affordable Art Show at Art House Productions in December. In April 2026, she had a solo exhibition at Pet Shop, also in Jersey City.

1995

Allison (Sprague) Cosmos, Fine Arts, after more than 25 years in California, recently relocated to Delaware. She has launched a to-the-trade wallpaper line while continuing to sell original artwork and collaborate with interior designers on custom pieces. She began 2026 with a solo exhibition, All Things Flight and Beautiful, at the Rehoboth Art League.

Chie Fueki, Fine Arts, was awarded a Spring-Summer 2025 MacDowell Fellowship (Petersborough, New Hampshire). She exhibited in the group shows Night in January and February 2026, and Interlayered from May to August 2025, both at DC Moore Gallery in New York City. David Kinsey, Fine Arts, exhibited in Inner Space at Fort Worth’s Kinfolk House from September to November, 2025. A full-time tenured studio art professor at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts, David also serves Color Association as faculty, advocating for those of color; Fresh Check Day, a mental health awareness program; and House of Possibilities (HOPE), which serves the community’s training and employment special needs.

1999

Mike Sofka, Illustration, was illustrator for How Sammy Sees the World, written by Lily Love Loudon, edited by Dr. Gina Loudon, and released by Simon & Schuster in November 2025. In addition to children’s book illustration, Mike is a senior product designer at Avetta in the greater Nashville area.

Jerry Chambless, Computer Animation, was the producer on the Silver Telly Award-winning film, My Guardian Angel, which was written and directed by his daughter, Nya. The crew included cinematographer Natasha Thornton ’14, sound engineer Troy Logan ’22, and key grip Jeno Broschofsky ’23. Owner of Illum Productions, Jerry has a career spanning over 20 years in the arts and entertainment industry as a producer, director, writer, creative director, and animator.

Scott Joseph Moore, Computer Animation, was awarded a Master of Fine Arts in Film and Television from Savannah College of Art and Design in June 2025. Scott specializes in writing, directing, and producing live-action films and is based in Savannah.

Dawn Mostow, Computer Animation, and her partner Ben Gould’s design, Tsukumogami, won the Supreme WOW Award and the Myths and Legends Section Award at the 35th annual World of WearableArt Award Show in Wellington, New Zealand, in September 2025. Their costume design company Dawnamatrix is based in Roswell, Georgia.

Mishou Sanchez, Interior Design, released Poppi Pink’s Tampa Adventure through Amazon KDP in October 2025. More than a children’s coloring book, it is a love letter to Tampa, where her creative studio, Studio Mishou, is based. Her work spans art, architecture, and immersive visual storytelling.

2010

Charles Chaisson, Illustration, exhibited new work from his series Written in the Veil at NUNU Arts & Culture Collective, Arnaudville, Louisiana, from September to November, 2025. A proud New Orleans native now rooted in Arnaudville, he is the founder and creative for Levity LA. Charles’ abstract paintings explore the intersection of psychosoma, language, and perception, and he is represented by Richard Solomon.

2013

Marqin Cook, Illustration, earned her Master’s in Art Therapy and Counseling from Penn West Edinboro in May 2019. She championed, developed, and now runs the art therapy program at MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston), the number one cancer hospital, where she uses art to support pediatric and young adult patients and their families.

Karen Arango, Photography and Digital Imaging, contributed to the inaugural major exhibition of Latinx contemporary artists, curated by Amy Rosenblum Martín, at The Ringling Museum of Art from October 2025 to March 2026.

Kal Athannassov, Computer Animation, was recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Children’s & Family Emmy Awards for his third Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation, this time for his Character Design work on Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld (Netflix). Kal is based in Pasadena, California.

The Twenty-Twenties

2024

Gabriel Lopez and Milena Montero, Class of 2024 Film grads, and their short film, Best Kept Shut, took home two honors at the Third Annual Mometu College Film Festival in July 2025: Best Horror and Producer’s Pick, one of the biggest awards of the night. This prize included funding to adapt the short into a feature, which wrapped principal photography in Terra Ceia, Florida, in January 2026 and is now in post-production.

2024

Ting Wang, Illustration, exhibited her first solo show, Frames of the Flowing Memories, at Nan Art Space, Taipei, from April to May, 2025. The exhibition featured both paintings and mixed media, exploring the idea of memory as something fluid yet emotionally enduring. Ting’s artwork captured fleeting internal images and moments, personal reflections, the quiet glow of city nights, or the silent movement of cats, preserving what often slips away unnoticed.
