Get ready to be a creative professional! The Design Center is Ringling College’s in-house design studio where students and professionals work side by side to create top-tier designs for the College and community.

Design Center students meet with clients, make presentations, and work under deadlines. You’ll manage projects from concept to completion, work within budgets, and learn about estimating and production, all essential skills for a professional creative.

Practicum Course

Our cross-disciplinary practicum course provides experience creating team-based projects for real-world clients.

  • GDES 491 – Design Research Center Practicum
  • Prerequisite: GDES 341 or GDES 342; GDES 345 or instructor’s permission
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA required
  • Permission to enroll granted based on portfolio review and faculty recommendations

Students can either work at the Design Center as a paid student worker or enroll in our class.
