Multimedia artist Chakaia Booker’s upcoming exhibition at Sarasota Art Museum of Ringling College of Art and Design was highlighted by Culture Type as one of the top solo shows to see this summer.

Booker (1953) is internationally renowned for using reclaimed materials to create monumental sculptural works that challenge viewers to consider the nature of humans’ relationships to one another and the world. Her upcoming exhibition at Sarasota Art Museum explores themes of environmentalism, socioeconomic justice, and more. 

The exhibit, Chakaia Booker: Surface Pressure, will be on display from July 16-Oct. 29.
