Ringling College of Art and Design has been named one of MovieMaker’s 25 Best Film Schools in the U.S. and Canada of 2023. The annual list recognizes schools that prepare students for every aspect of moviemaking, spotlighting both world-renowned institutions and surprisingly affordable schools on the rise.
Ringling Film students not only master the key elements of creating a great film, but they graduate as expert storytellers able to effectively capture the attention of an audience. Students also benefit from countless opportunities to engage in real-world projects, such as interning on the set of a feature film, working in the editing room of a major television series, or participating in national client competitions. As a result, many graduates land work at major production companies and on some of the most interesting creative projects produced in the industry.
“As one of the most production-intensive, undergraduate-only programs on the list, it’s a great honor for Ringling College to be named one of MovieMaker magazine’s 25 Best Film Schools in the U.S. and Canada,” said Film program faculty member Brad Battersby.
Ringling’s Film program immerses students in all aspects of the industry including cinematography, production design, editing, sound design, screenwriting, post-production, directing, and producing, while learning on the College’s 8,400-sq.-ft. soundstage. Students can focus on narrative film or branded entertainment — and create three to five films in their first year. Alumni go on to win numerous festival awards and work for industry giants such as Netflix, Disney, Comedy Central, MTV, NBC, and ABC to name a few.
