On Thursday, September 21, 2023 Ringling College of Art and Design’s Fine Arts and Visual Studies Department Head Joe Fig will join Professor in the School of Art and Art History and Director of the Institute for Research in Art at the University of South Florida Margaret Miller and The Dalí Museum Curator of Education Peter Tush for a panel discussion at the Dalí Museum in St Petersburg, Fla., Between the Lines: Exploring the Art of Drawing. The panel will give presentations and discuss the medium from their unique perspectives.

Joe Fig is an artist known for work that explores the creative process—the spaces where art is made and contemplated. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally with over thirty solo and fifty group exhibitions. He is the author of the acclaimed books Inside the Painter’s Studio and Inside the Artist’s Studio (Princeton Architectural Press), which share an intimate view inside the studios of today’s leading artists.

Fig has a current exhibition, Contemplating Compositions, at the Cristin Tierney Gallery on the Bowery, up until Oct. 21. He will also be giving a talk at the New York Academy of Art on Oct. 11.
