Art is an ongoing exploration.
Ringling’s Fine Arts program empowers students to find their authentic voices and boldly express them in their work. The curriculum utilizes traditional, contemporary and digital media for creating paintings, prints and sculpture in an interdisciplinary environment. The painting curriculum provides a wide array of artistic experiences, ranging from figurative and landscape painting to abstraction, collaboration, performance, installation, and time-based art. The printmaking curriculum offers students the opportunity to develop a comprehensive range of skills within the areas of lithography, relief printing, silkscreen, and intaglio. The sculpture curriculum allows students to develop skills, knowledge and competencies within wood, ceramics, metal fabrication, bronze and performance/installation. Students become proficient in mold making, welding and metal casting. Off-campus study opportunities for all Fine Arts students include the New York Studio Program and study abroad programs in Europe. The students conclude by creating a cohesive body of work for a senior thesis that serves as preparation for further education or for a career in the arts.
