Ringling PDI Department Hosts PH_ashion121, a Joint Fashion Photography Exhibition on Dec. 1, 2009
November 23, 2009 – The Ringling Photography and Digital Imaging (PDI) department is proud to present PH_ashion121, a joint fashion photography exhibition and runway show. The exhibition will feature pieces created by Ringling PDI students that have collaborated with designers and the local fashion industry to create the wonderful images presented. The runway show will feature the work of some of exciting designers.

Ringling Alum Designs for "Mad Men"
November 12, 2009 – Ringling alum Jeremy Cox (Graphic and Interactive Communication, 2006) is currently working for Imaginary Forces, a production company and design studio whose award-winning work currently includes the hit show for the AMC series "Mad Men." Cox’s roles at Imaginary Forces have varied from concept development and storyboarding to 2D and 3D animation.

Florida West Coast Chapter of ASID Announces Two Ringling Winners for 2009
October 29, 2009 – The Florida West Coast Chapter of ASID proudly annouced the winners for their annual design competition for the Tampa area and Ringling College Interior Design department has two winners from the group.

Ringling Student Film Wins Best of Show at SIGGRAPH Asia
October 22, 2009 – Anchored, a film by senior Computer Animation student Lindsey Olivares, wins Best of Show at SIGGRAPH Asia. In this short film, Lindsey captivates audiences with an emotional journey throughout this well-executed piece.

Ringling College Photography Students Featured in American Photo on Campus Magazine
October 20, 2009 - Ringling College of Art and Design Photography students were recently featured in American Photo on Campus magazine, specifically in the Student Portfolio section. While this is an honor that is usually reserved for talented students from different colleges and universities around the nation, in this issue, the Student Portfolio section is dedicated entirely to students from Ringling College.

US News & World Report Recognizes Ringling College of Art & Design
August 26, 2009 - US News & World Report's "2010 Edition of America's Best Colleges" recognizes Ringling College of Art & Design as one of the nation's most unique art and design schools and, for the first time, chooses an art and design college to be profiled as part of the Best Colleges Guide "Roadtrips" feature story.

Ringling Student Projects Selected as Finalists for 2009 Adobe® Design Achievement Awards
July 8, 2009 - Four Ringling College student projects were selected from 3,243 entries received worldwide as semi-finalists in the 2009 Adobe® Design Achievement Awards (ADAA) competition. A total of 216 semi-finalists were selected from around the globe.

Ringling Grad Featured in Herald Tribune
June 17, 2009 - 2009 Ringling Illustration graduate Erin Johnson was featured yesterday in the Herald Tribune for his senior thesis project of illustrating a baby grand piano.

Ringling Fine Arts Senior Receives National Award
June 10, 2009 - Reva Castillenti, senior Fine Arts major, received an honorable mention for the 2009 Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award. She was chosen out of 441 students from over 176 colleges and university sculpture programs in North America and abroad that were nominated for these awards.

Interior Design Students Receive NEWH Scholarships
May 14, 2009 - South Florida NEWH has awarded scholarships of $2,500 each to Ringling Juniors Samantha Macleod and Christina Jordan. These awards were based on personal essays about how their career plans will be focused on the hospitality industry.

Ringling College Announces Academic Affiliation Agreement with the International Center of Photography in New York City
March 30, 2009 - Ringling College of Art and Design announced a strategic affiliation agreement with the International Center of Photography (ICP), which will provide select Ringling students an opportunity to study at the Manhattan-based ICP for one year, beginning with the 2009-2010 academic year.

Ringling College Takes 34 Awards in Society of Illustrators 2009 Student Scholarship Competition
February 23, 2009 - The Society of Illustrators has chosen 34 illustrations submitted by Ringling College students for inclusion in 2009 Student Scholarship exhibition in New York City late this spring. These 34 illustrations (twice as many as any other school) were chosen out of a possible 5,600 pieces submitted by colleges throughout the country.

HGTV Orders Additional Episodes of Ringling Alumnus David Bromstad's Color Splash
February 3, 2009 - Knoxville, Tenn. - Color Splash, the popular weekly HGTV series featuring David Bromstad, has been extended for 26 episodes. Produced by Edelman Productions, Color Splash showcases the talents of Bromstad who was selected as the winner of the first HGTV Design Star competition in 2006.

Ringling Computer Animation Student Receives EA Scholarship
October 6, 2008 - Ringling Computer Animation senior Greg Hettinger has been awarded a $10,000 scholarship from Electronic Arts (EA) – the Randy Pausch Memorial Scholarship. Greg is one of only three interns this summer awarded a scholarship and was selected from over 100 interns nationwide who spent the summer working in EA studios around the country.

Ringling Student Jihad Lahham Wins Rockport Design Challenge for Second Straight Year
October 2, 2008 - For the second year in a row, Jihad Lahham has won the Rockport Student Design Challenge. His concept was selected out of 25 final entries from other participating art colleges including Pratt, Parsons and RISD.

Ringling Interior Design Students Win Prestigious Donghia Award
Sept. 18, 2008 - Two Ringling interior design students, Ashley Bright and Elizabeth Langford, have each been awarded a $30,000 scholarship in the seventh annual Angelo Donghia Foundation Student Portfolio Competition.

Ringling ID Students Win 3 of 5 Robert Bruce Thompson Light Fixture Design Awards
Sept. 18, 2008 - Every year that Ringling College interior design students have participated in the Robert Bruce Thompson Annual Student Light Fixture Design Competition, they have had at least one winner, and this year is no exception. However, this year Ringling students not only won one of the esteemed awards, but three!
